Rebuilding Together included in top group of one-percent of charities rated, which have received at least 10 consecutive 4-star (highest rating) evaluations

WASHINGTON, DC., April 9, 2014 - Rebuilding Together, a national nonprofit with a vision of a safe and healthy home for every person, today announced it has earned a 4-star charity rating (the highest rating) for the 10th consecutive year from Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest charity evaluator. With this year’s rating, Rebuilding Together is now included in the top group of only one percent of the charities rated, which have received at least 10 consecutive 4-star Charity Navigator evaluations, demonstrating the nonprofit’s outstanding performance.

Rebuilding Together’s mission, bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners, revitalizes homes and communities by performing essential renovations for low-income families, the elderly, people with disabilities, and veterans. This mission and work has been recognized by Charity Navigator as being executed in a fiscally exceptional manner, outperforming most other charities in America.

For every dollar raised nearly 90 percent is spent on Rebuilding Together’s direct program expenses. Rebuilding Together consistently achieves its organizational mission and responsibility to communities and homeowners in-need nationwide, as well as its commitment to sound management, accountability and transparency.

“Being recognized for the 10th consecutive year, Rebuilding Together is extremely honored to be included in the top one percent of charities that have received 4-star evaluations from Charity Navigator,” said Charley Shimanski, president and CEO of Rebuilding Together. “This exceptional rating demonstrates our ability to adhere to good governance practices and to conduct our work in a fiscally responsible way as we serve the needs of low-income homeowners and communities across the country.”
