On National Senior Citizen Day, we celebrate older adults and the ways safe and healthy homes can transform their lives. Imagine a neighbor who hesitated at the top of the stairs every morning, worried about falling, or someone who avoided cooking because moving around the kitchen felt too challenging.

Small home repairs can help make a big difference. After our repairs, 86% of neighbors who had trouble entering or exiting their homes found it easier and most who had previously fallen never fell again. Cooking a meal or completing daily tasks became more manageable, with many reporting less stress and improved mental health. One-third of neighbors who had rated their health as “fair” or “poor” experienced improvements and over six in ten maintained or improved their good health.

Perhaps most importantly, nearly 90% of neighbors who hadn’t planned to age in place now see it as possible to stay in the homes and communities they love. These numbers reflect real individuals, genuine situations and true peace of mind.

This National Senior Citizen Day, let’s honor the strength and stories of older adults while continuing to build more safe and accessible homes where they can thrive every day.
